BOXER DIET

After I decided not to exercise and not go to the gym, I started researching the athlete’s diet. I was curious how athletes eat, what they are allowed to eat, whether if they eat like people who don’t play sports they burn calories. Coincidentally, I became acquainted with boxing, which had been unknown to me until then. Every day I listened to the experiences of boxers about their diet, losing weight in a short time and staying in full strength, and ready for the match. One of the essential items is how boxers regain muscle mass after a fight. It was fascinating to me that boxers can lose a few kilograms in one day because, to ensure equality of the fight, boxers compete in weight categories. The nutrition plan is made by the coaches before the preparation and competition period. The menu must be such that at all times the body is supplied with everything it needs to function properly. Preparations of boxers for the next competitions begin at the beginning of the year, in the winter months, and it is very important to strengthen the immunity for what awaits them in the coming period.

CARBOHYDRATES

Not only training and matches in the ring but also a large part of the diet is responsible for the appearance and muscle mass of boxers. Boxers must try to get as much protein and carbohydrates as possible. Protein builds muscle mass, that’s familiar and acceptable to me, but why carbs, that’s exactly what made me fat.

One of my conclusion was, carbohydrates are allowed if they can be consumed.

During physical activity, the body relies on carbohydrates as a source of energy and directly affects the strength and endurance of the athlete. There are different types of carbohydrates and they are divided into simple and complex. Simple carbohydrates are found or naturally formed in fruits and vegetables, so I am quite sure that these carbohydrates are consumed by boxers and other athletes. Complex carbohydrates are, among other things, digestible starch, such as bread, legumes, and starchy vegetables, so the boxer certainly does not eat beans before the match.

My theory that they are allowed to eat complex carbohydrates has fallen into the water !!!

WEIGHT LOSS, THE DAY BEFORE THE FIGHT

This is exactly what I was most interested in, how to lose weight in a short time and reach the desired weight. Boxers have a weight measurement before every match and that is something that gives them a problem. They must find a way to lose weight quickly so that they are not disqualified from the category in which they will fight.

I found myself in it, finally a solution to my problem, suffering in the short term but happiness in the long run.

One of the ways boxers use to lose weight quickly is by sweating. This method achieves temporary weight loss and is ideal for measurement just before a fight.

Just like in my case when I want to wear tight pants for a special occasion.

However, I am disappointed because this is exactly what is achieved by running, skipping rope, cardiovascular activities, which to me as a person who does not want the exercise did not suit.

WATER

Limited fluid intake helps the boxer reach his desired weight a few days before the match. Ideal for me because I don’t drink enough water as recommended. But again I come across a situation that doesn’t suit me. Three days before the match, boxers ingest 6–8 liters of water a day. Increased water intake encourages the body to excrete fluids more than usual and thus the desired weight is reached. It is a mission impossible for me because I drink one glass of water a day.

TRAINING

The end of weight loss is training. Boxers do specific exercises that include large muscle groups such as running, weightlifting, swimming, squats, fitness training. And of course, I don’t recognize myself as a person who could endure this kind of training.

BOXING, NOBLE SKILL, NOBLE PEOPLE

I continue as before, without training, on a special diet. Not everyone can be a boxer.

I was hoping I could use their knowledge of the ideal weight. Still, I may have managed to share my experience and knowledge of the noble sport. Athletes who practice this skill, how mentally and physically resilient they are, and above all people with a big heart.
